Lima Beans

Fresh Lima Beans

I am one lucky person, who feels like they get more than one family that cares for them.  I live 6 hours from my family, but I have been living in Charlotte for the last 10 years.  While living her, I've been 'adopted' by the Pendelton's.  Mrs. Pendleton went out to the garden to pick her freshly grown beans, while the "Kids" were put to work getting the beans out of their pods. Always a (healthy) good time!

Ingredients:
Fresh Lima Beans (frozen will do)
Water
Butter
Salt
Hot Sauce (I like Frank's)

Fresh Lima Beans in the Pods
Empty
Directions: Add enough water to cover by one inch of water, 2 tablespoons butter, and dashes of hot sauce.

Boil for 20 minutes, until the beans are tender.

Drain, melt 1 tablespoon butter over the beans. Add hot sauce and salt to taste.

Serve warm.  (Seen here with a venison steak and orzo.)
