Candy Cane Crescent Roll
One of the things that makes the holidays so fun is creating holiday-themed dishes, and especially with the kids! So this recipe was great because it was super simple, visually appealing, and the kids could help with every step!
My little helpers... unless they were playing Mindcraft! lol |
Ingredients:
- 1 package refrigerated crescent rolls
- 1/2 cup strawberry or raspberry jam/jelly
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 4 oz. cream cheese; softened
- 1 tbsp milk
Directions:
Preheat oven to temperature on the package.
On a cookie sheet, arrange crescent roll triangles pointing inward into the shape of a candy cane with edges overlapping. Lightly press triangles together to seal.
Fold the triangle tops towards the outside edge of the 'candy cane'
Bake for around 15 minutes or until top of pastry is golden brown.
While baking, prepare the cream cheese frosting. In medium bowl, stir/whisk the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and a little of the milk. May need to adjust level of thickness, by adding milk.
Once pastry is slightly cooled, drizzle the glaze over the crescent tops. (I tried to make mine look like the stripes in contrast to the red sections. )
Serve Warm.
